SubscriberWrites: Need for a ‘concurrent system’ in control of education

At the outset I beg all the readers to believe me as a neutral academician. I have no affiliations whatsoever. Interest of the society and nation is important to me. Further, I wish to state that my opinion is not because of the points raised in the article but because of the issue of the nature of the education system which was being discussed for a long time. / Country should adopt the system as it occurs in some developed western countries regarding the education system. There, education is clearly separated into Federal(central) and State. There are educational institutions under both clearly demarcated. India should adopt the same system. No need for a “concurrent system” in the control of education. It can be clearly separated into Central and State. Let all the 28 states be totally autonomous in carrying out all their education programs and policies. Absolutely no problem in my opinion. The Central Government has so many institutes under its control. If need be, additional institutes can be created under the central Government. No need for a concurrent system. After all, why do students study and get degrees? It is for their further career and job prospects in India and abroad. Let the concerned employer screen and select the students/ candidates. I feel this is in the interest of both society and nation.
