This year is 80th year of UN General Assembly being celebrated across the world with many events , speeches etc . The general assembly session opened under the theme “Better Together” -80 years and more for peace development and human rights . I am not sure whether India had organized any events in this context. It is not late . India also should celebrate some events and journalists should publish articles from duly selected experts in their respective media. Globe which has 195 plus countries should realize the paradox /unfortunate situation that even after second world war and formation of UN assembly and affiliated organizations nearly three hundred wars have taken place ( 285 distinct armed conflicts as per Uppsala University Sweden). Currently it is a everyday news about Israel-Hamas and Russia Ukraine. We do not know what next ? /
The way MDGs (Millennium Development Goals ) and SDGs ( Sustainable Development Goals ) are earmarked for 15 years , in the same way “ No War Goal should be declared and maintained by the UN till another 15 years ,that is from 2025 -2040 . This will give some breathing time to critically analyze the conflicts across the globe , critically analyze the causes of war and measures to be taken to prevent wars and for taking measures towards aid and uplifting the needed countries across the globe and come out with solutions without resorting to armed conflicts. (SDGs tenure is going to complete soon in 2030. Afterwards UN is likely to come with something else). A paradox is global defense expenditure is supposed to be 2.47 trillion USD . What does this mean ?? What is the need for so much of defense expenditure ? No peace and fear of war and self protection./
Countries should insist that UN should prepare documents country wise and distribute to all libraries/ bibliotheques . In addition a document giving an over view of 80 years existence .Relevant officials, academicians and general public should have a due appraisal and awareness. Constantly different media should publish elaborate articles to create awareness among the above. Government should always maintain a committee(committees ) of due number of relevant experts to monitor and evaluate the international /geopolitical relations and give constant feed backs. Indian situation is different
because of the super powers US, Russia and China . Further , because of problems with neighboring countries Pakistan Bangladesh, Northeast etc . Hence expert committees are to be there to constantly monitor and evaluate situation in geopolitical matters and give due feed backs to the government. /
Because of Trumps visa policies Indians are in a fix . To some extent the problem is solved by certain other developed countries inviting them India also should try how to retain them and can contribute. Indians wish to go abroad for the following main reasons : a) Value of Indian rupee is very weak vis a vis other strong currencies. b) Quality of education and administration is far better . c) degree of social freedom is high legally and socially. c) they feel their next generation can be happily settled.
