GYEONGJU, South Korea (Reuters) -South Korean President Lee Jae Myung told Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi that it was more important than ever to strengthen bilateral ties given how the countries had much in common under the current trade environment, Lee’s office said on Thursday.
His comments came during a summit meeting between the two leaders on the sidelines of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation gatherings.
Takaichi also said that the “future-oriented” development of relations would benefit both countries, according to a transcript provided by Lee’s office via translation.
