AMSTERDAM (Reuters) -Former EU Commissioner Frans Timmermans stepped down as the leader of the Dutch Greens-Labour party after a disappointing result in the election on Wednesday.

Exit polls showed the left-wing party would drop to 20 seats, down from 25 seats in the previous election in 2023.
