New Delhi: Many, many politicians tweeted on the passage of the Triple Talaq Bill in the Rajya Sabha. However, we were surprised to see President of India Ram Nath Kovind applaud the NDA’s bill which many opposition parties opposed. Isn’t the President supposed to be above party politics?

Former Jammu and Kashmir chief ministers, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti, got into (another) war of words about the passage of the triple talaq bill. They’re blaming each other about who gave the BJP the numbers to pass the Bill. While the popcorn is out at our end, we think it might be better for both the parties to stop the blame-game and concentrate on defeating their common opponent.

Loktantrik Janata Dal MP Sharad Yadav had serious complaints about the way the bill was passed and those who walked out on it.
The way Triple Talaq Bill got clear way for being passed today was not d healthy precedent for Parliamentary democracy. Parties missing and did walk out have actually became part for clear passage. Had they really against the Bill, their MPs should have voted against d Bill.

The disappearance of Cafe Coffee Day owner V.G. Siddhartha Tuesday elicited many responses on Twitter. One was from fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya who expressed sadness over Siddhartha’s alleged letter to the company board and then hit out at the government and banks for hounding people, himself included. Siddhartha was found dead early Wednesday morning.

Congress leader Milind Deora’s wife was seen in a video starring the who’s who of Bollywood at an alleged ‘drug party’ which was tweeted (and criticised) by Akali Dal MLA and national spokesperson, Manjinder Singh Sirsa. Mr. Deora was quick to shut down Sirsa, who said that Bollywood actors were proud to flaunt their drugged state. Now, if only we had been there, we’d know what really happened…
