Dalit women farmers of Punjab started a fight against the dominant caste of India in 2014. Under 1961 Punjab Village Common Lands Act, one third of the panchayat land was to be allotted to the SCs. However, 64 years later also Dalits in Punjab are struggling to claim their right. In 2014, a movement started, where women farmers who face abuse from the upper caste, came out of their houses to fight. This was just the beginning of a revolution. ThePrint’s Manisha Mondal report
