‘Wasn’t surprised, timing made it plain’: Justice Muralidhar on his transfer after Delhi riots order

While Justice (retd) S Muralidhar says that he wasn’t surprised by his sudden transfer from the Delhi high court in 2020, the timing of the transfer made it “very plain”. His transfer was notified hours after he had pulled up the Delhi Police for failing to register FIRs against politicians accused of making inflammatory speeches during the 2020 Delhi riots.

He now recalls his reaction to the transfer in a conversation with Senior Assistant Editor Apoorva Mandhani on his new book, [In]Complete Justice? The Supreme Court at 75.
