How Uttarakhand’s women are becoming victims to increasing animal attacks

Uttarakhand forest department data shows that in 2025 alone, 71 bear attacks were reported from the state and 80% of the victims were women. Shrinking winters, decreased forest covers, and the changing hibernation patterns of animals is reporting a disturbing trend of animal attacks.
