Bhadohi (UP), Apr 29 (PTI) A man allegedly assaulted his wife and shaved her head after she raised objection over his abusive language, police said on Tuesday.

Aurai police station Inspector Anjani Kumar Rai said the incident took place on April 24 in Bada Siyur village. Ram Sagar reportedly began using abusive language against his wife Babita (29) around 1 am following some dispute.

When Babita objected, he allegedly threatened to kill her, assaulted her, and then shaved off her head using a sharp object, the officer said.

The next day, Babita contacted her mother, Urmila Devi, and informed her about the incident and went to her parental home. On Sunday night, Babita and her mother approached the Aurai police station and filed a formal complaint, demanding strict action against the accused.

The accused is absconding and efforts are on to trace him. He has been booked under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the police said. PTI COR ABN NB
