New Delhi: Businessman and Indian Premier League founder Lalit Modi shared photos on Twitter Thursday announcing actress Sushmita Sen as his dating partner and said marriage too would happen one day.

In a tweet, he wrote, “Just back in London after a whirling global tour #maldives # sardinia with the families — not to mention my #betterhalf @sushmitasen47 — a new beginning a new life finally. Over the moon.”

The 46-year-old mother of two daughters – Alisah and Renee – Sen was crowned Ms Universe in 1994.

She made her Bollywood debut with the 1996 film ‘Dastak’ and went on to star in several others like ‘Biwi No 1’, ‘Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya’ and ‘Main Hoon Na’ among others.

She was last seen in the International Emmy-nominated series ‘Aarya’.

Sushmita Sen’s brother Rajeev also expressed surprise at Lalit Modi’s tweet. He told India Today: “I am pleasantly surprised too. I will speak to my sister about this.”

Currently a fugitive, Modi ran IPL till 2010 but was soon suspended by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) after being accused of “misconduct, indiscipline and financial irregularities”.

BCCI launched an investigation and banned him for life in 2013 after a committee found him guilty of the charges. Modi denied any wrongdoing, and shortly before the Enforcement Directorate launched an investigation, he moved to London.
