Kochi, Dec 9 (PTI) A 19-year-old woman who went missing last week was found dead near her home in this district, police said on Tuesday.
Chithrapriya, a student in Bengaluru, went missing from her home on Saturday evening. Her body was discovered in a deserted field about one kilometre from her residence in Malayattoor, police said.
An FIR was lodged at Kalady police station following a complaint by her parents, and an investigation was launched to trace her, they added.
Police said it is not yet clear whether her death was a suicide or a murder.
Her body has been sent for post-mortem, and the cause of death will be determined once the report is completed. PTI TGB SSK
