New Delhi: India will resume scheduled commercial international passengers air services to and from the country from March 27, the Civil Aviation Ministry said on Tuesday.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation had suspended the services from March 20, 2022 when Covid hit the world.
A ministry release stated, “After having recognised the increased vaccination coverage across the globe and in consultation with the stakeholders, the Government of India has decided to resume scheduled commercial international passenger services to/from India from 27.03.2022, i.e. start of Summer Schedule 2022.”
Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said the “air bubble arrangement — which allow two countries to operate flights into each other’s territories subject to certain conditions — also stands revoked”.
“With this step, I am confident the sector will reach new heights,” the minister said.
Operations will stick to the guidelines issued by the Health Ministry for international travel, the Aviation Ministry said.
