New Delhi: The next generation of business reforms in India is now in the hands of the government, with the launch of the Business Reforms Action Plan (BRAP) 2024. The Delhi government’s emphasis on Make in India and strengthening the business regulatory framework across the country is one of the key aims of this new initiative, a PIB press release stated.

The BRAP 2024 will introduce an innovative assessment procedure that uses evidence and feedback-based approaches to create a more comprehensive and dynamic regulatory environment. The new framework seeks to reduce approval times, integrate online service delivery, and leverage initiatives like the National Single Window System and PM Gati Shakti to make the regulatory environment more transparent, efficient, and dynamic.

The initiative will cover a range of sectors, including labor, environment, taxes, land administration, utility permits, inspection and construction, ICT adoption, and process reengineering through the Time and Document Study (TDS) to ensure faster and more efficient government-to-business service delivery. This expansion of the business reforms program reflects the government’s commitment to improving the business environment and promoting investment in India.

BRAP’s previous editions have successfully reshaped India’s business landscape, embodying the spirit of competitive federalism. With a focus on transparency and improving the ease of doing business, the BRAP 2024 is expected to create a more favorable business environment in India and boost economic growth.
