New Delhi: The Punjab Police has managed to find the motorcycle on which self-styled Khalistani preacher Amritpal Singh was last seen escaping on Saturday.

The Bajaj Platina bike was found abandoned near a canal in the Darapur area of Jalandhar, which is 45 kilometres away from Jalandhar city.

The man in question, however, is still on the run as cops continue to comb the state for the fifth day in a row.

The police on Tuesday released seven photos of Singh – with or without beard and turban – and sought the help of citizens to flush him out from hiding.

Singh was in a Mercedes when he was accosted by the police in Shahkot on Saturday. While the hunt was on, he changed into a Brezza SUV, went to a local gurdwara and changed into a shirt and trousers. He then escaped on a bike, riding pillion. He had on a pink turban and goggles, according to visuals.

With Wednesday’s find, all three vehicles used by Singh to get away have now been recovered.

The police on Tuesday arrested four people for helping Singh to escape, taking the total number of arrests to 154 since Saturday’s crackdown. The National Security Act has also been slapped on Singh, and a non-bailable warrant is in force since 20 March.
