Why didn’t Tamils protest imposition of English on them by the British? I am grateful to the government for teaching me Kannada, Hindi, and English. Long live Tamil. Death to priestess of Hindi.
The author largely carries forward the political arguments of the CM without any attempt to look at the dubiousness of the claims.
How can a democratically elected state government justify allowing students of private schools in the state to learn any language, paying high fees while denying the option to learn any third language to the students of state government schools where the poor study?
It is also widely known, that most of these politicians or people related to them run these private schools, including sending their own wards to learn all languages including Hindi.
The CM did not write a letter or express any opposition when the previous NEP mandated Hindi as the third language, while he has written one when the new NEP policy allows for any third language as determined locally.
Why is this disgusting person filled with so much hate the BJP and hindi speaking people who were actually left behind by his masters in the congress in name of caste and ugly socialism? This person hates hindus for no reason and now he is targeting hindi speaking people just because his masters in the italian family and congress cannot defeat BJP and Modi. Ugly mud throwing jus to remain relevant
Delimitation will only lead to more power to Hindi heartland. Amit Shah response shows that he is not going to increase the number of seats in South India. South India has no other option but to push for increased fertility rates as even BJP ally CBN is doing in Andhra. Net result will be further degradation in standard of living for majority.
Modi’s pro·tégé Governor Ravi, need to know that the migration of labour is from Hindi heartland to southern states and not the other way about. The RSS man knows the real purpose of Hindi imposition; that of establishing hegemony of Hindi- Hindutva ideology.
Don’t conflate your hatred for Modi/BJP/RSS with hatred for Hindi. No one is imposing any language on anyone, unless you are living in a make believe world of your imagination.
If MK Stalin really was a Pan-India leader he would tell “Hindi” conglomerate of languages states to take more regional self pride in their Braj, Mewadi, Bhojpuri, Vidharbha, etc identities and make smaller states. Southern states got lingual division and that is why regional culture wise they come from a privileged place; a privilege such egotistical leaders are too self centred to tell you about!
The same population growth argument can be said in terms of religion. But then the congress etc will call it it communal. With jitni abadi utna haq slogan of congress, the BJP is right in putting forward this issue.
A very confused and meandering article that conflates multiple issues. Did the “hindi-belt” fail to develop because of their use of Hindi? There is no doubt that after a certain level English needs to be the medium of education. But at primary level Hindi and other regional languages can happily coexist. Both Hindi chauvinist and non-hindi irredentists need to take a step back.
Coming to the delimitation exercise, the incentives for the northern states is clear and must be vigorously resisted. The freeze should continue as it is. If the argument is that one MP cannot look after so many people in the northern seats then the seats should be increased according to current ratio so that population explosion is not rewarded and population discipline is not penalised. Promoting such perverse incentives with cause population numbers to implode.
I think you don’t know twitter users doesn’t represent india. Check the total number of twitter users in india first

Language should not be imposed on any part of the country, even if it had not done so well economically.
