This time I have to agree with Ruhi ji. Nirmala Sitaraman has to show her mettle in ironing out implementation issues. DFS will have to deal with bank unions too. Another bold budget this time revamping India’s subsidy landscape to more DBT based framework, easier taxation, growth oriented budgets can make Nirmala Sitaraman the FM india needs. The Budget of 2023 will anyway be a largely political budget due to the following year’s general election. So she has another budget in 2022, the year Modi wants to celebrate many milestones like housing for all etc. So her next year’s budget will be interesting too.
The larger point of more women leaders in indian politics must be pondered on.
