It is intriguing why this bill was discussed for just 6 hours each in each in LS and Rs. Each MP should have been given aleast 30 mintues to debate, and one page written text of his views with justifications and the aggregate should have been compiled and documented before the discussion began. An important matter of such grave nature, should have been thoroughly discussed atleast for 6 days instead of just two days. It is also intriguing why the state govts were not taken into confidence before introducing the bill. Instead, the State Govts should have been taken in to confidence while preparing the draft, followed by at least three rounds of discussion, incorporate the changes that addresses the concerns of all stake holders and then introduce the bill in the parliamement with the backing of the state governments. By Not taking the state governements into confidence first and then introducing it in the Parliament to get it passed, the Governement at Centre lost a golden opportunity to demonstrate its faith in the Federal structure of our governance and the correctness in the conduct of the parliamentary democracy thereby achieving a high level of statesmanship and democratic maturity – this was an opportunity lost by the government to consolidate on the gains of its parliamentary elections victory
Another Perspective on CAB by Yogendra Yadav. Actual study of the Bill will help to understand whether the concerns listed by the author are addressed in the bill. The spurt of reactions in different parts indicates the there is urgent need to explain the bill via a via the concerns if any. This is the time for the govt to reach out to all political parties to address the concerns and specific impact of the Bill listed. Also it is necessary for all political parties to put aside their differences and find out how to stop the spurt of dissatisfaction against. It is time to stop politicking over this issue and instead hold all party public meetings across country and allay these concerns. The onus lies on both the govt at centre , govtss in states and all political parties to sit together instead of mudslinging each other. They need to show maturity and statesmanship keeping aside their ego. The govt must realise that it is for all its citizens and the opposition parties must also realize that it stands for all the citizens. It is time to rise over ideological or political differences.IT IS HOPED THAT IN FUTURE ALL PARTIES AND THE STATE GOVERNMENTS ARE TAKEN INTO CONFIDENCE THRU DIALOGUE DISCUSSION AND ARRIVE AT CONCENSUS BEFORE ENACTING A BILL.
Jacob Mathecken, are you nuts! There’s no context to what you’re posting here with the article. What a complete nincompoop you are.
India has/had and will continue to have thousands of unfinished business. Nothing special to pick Bangladesh among these. This is justifying after the fact crap.
If only importance of an education was understood by Paki Govts, you would have studied history..to know about Pak ‘treachery’ in arming lashkars to attack Independent Kashmir in 1948, then again doing the same in 1965 by attacking, this time India, in Kashmir! So yes what goes around came around in 1971!!
So be it! Jinnah’s two nation theory well buried in Indian Ocean for good. PM Modi buried Pakistan’s ‘Kashmir banega Pakistan’ dream for good. Pakistan’s Bengali genocide paid in the same coin!
93,000 Darpook-coward Pakistan Army/ Air Force/ Navy officers and soldiers were mega-Defeated and mega-Surrendered at the feet of Bangladesh Mukti Bahini Fighters + Indian Forces on 16 December 1971 at Dhaka Ramna Race Course ground (Sheikh Mujib’s historic 7th March and M. A. Jinnah’s Notorious ”Urdu-Only National Language” speech site) —- a world-record of fastest and largest military Surrender since World War ll.
1971 Bangladesh Liberation War showed that darpook Pakistan Army/ Air Force/ Navy morale would not stand more than a couple of hard blows at the right time and place.
It is shameful the way India treacherously funded Mukhti bahini terrorists and then invaded a smaller country.
What goes around, comes around
What has come around???? Pakistan will soon disintegrate as it continues the same Butchering policy against Balouch, Shias, Suunnis, Sindhis and Pakhtuns
