Why use an international paper to link redistribution to coalition ? Where is the paper that proves it to be the case in India ? Also what about the ‘extent of distribution’ that coalition governments do, is it substantially different or just a marginal difference ? What about Economics – In what ways coalition governments affect economics ?
I hope print gets some editors to do some editing and reject this kind of garbage. We do not need more pro-poor policies. We need to implement the existing pro-poor polices first. Coalition govts. over the last few decades have been shown to be more adept at looting the public money than implementing policies. No 67% people did not vote against BJP. They voted for their own parties. I wonder how can the Print editors allow this kind of garbage.
It is ok to be anti-bjp and wanting other govt. But for that one need not prop-up coalition govts. A reasonably good human being like Manmohan singh could not run a clean govt. (not even his coal ministry). So what are the odds for all other corrupt politicians.
Oh, absolutely. Coalitions have made their case, most conclusively, between 1998 and 2014. We now need to be persuaded that strong governments are good for a India …
How moronic! His stand is not substantiated at all. Coalitions especially the ones which are formed post poll results are just opportunistic leaders looking to make money, as is very clearly seen in Karnataka.
You also have to look at the leaders who will form the coalition. Do you think Mayawati, Mamatha or KCR can make a good PM? The whole world will laugh at us if a person like Mayawati becomes PM. In case that happens, our country will be sent back to the dark ages and this is a fact. Democracy should be for all and should not be left with the hands of leaders and parties whose only basis for coming to power is to divide the society on basis of caste. I hope parties like JDS, BSP, SP, TMC are defeated so badly that no one for the next 100 years should invoke caste to seek votes!

Did Mayavati get 20% of national vote in 2014 election ? Perhaps she got 20 % of UP vote … What is the role of editors in The Print ?
India only follows Pro poor policies and we all know where Bharat stands in the world.
Loss making farmers will continue with their farming
Bharat will continue with Socialism even after bankruptcy
Adam Smith will tell Jai Karl marxa looking at Bharat.
In Bharat, being well off is a crime, being poor is rewarded.
For Indian leftists, forcing x to pay for z’s food is okay, forcing z to earn for his own food is not okay.
