  1. Public debt tends to snowball. The budget estimates for 2024 – 25 were 7.8 trillion, actual 8,4 trillion, budget estimates for 25-26 9.3 trillion.

  2. Other states should follow Maharashtra’s fiscal prudence. With a public debt of almost eight trillion, a fiscal deficit of 1.36 trillion, it has started course correction.
