New Delhi: The US administration has committed support to those impacted by the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene. President Joe Biden Saturday reiterated support and said that his government will continue to help communities in the Southeast recover from the effects, a White House release stated.
The president shared his grief and sadness over the loss of lives in the region. He said that those affected will find a place as he and First Lady Jill Biden will be ‘praying’ for them.
“As the storm continues to track north, Vice President Harris and I remain focused on life-saving and life-sustaining response and recovery efforts. I am being regularly briefed by my team on the ongoing response efforts, and my Administration is in constant contact with state and local officials to ensure communities have the support and resources they need,” Biden said.
The President also said that the recovery process will be difficult but that he and his Administration will be there for every step of the process. ” We’re not going to walk away. We’re not going to give up,” he added.
