The stream was watched by over 4,39,000 viewers, making it the third-highest individual stream by viewership in the history of Twitch. Snippets of the live-stream have also gone viral on social media sites like Twitter.

Cortez’s stream lasted three-and-a-half hours and she also amassed over 5,50,000 followers on Twitch after it, more than any other US political leader on the platform including President Donald Trump.

Among Us is a popular online multiplayer game developed and published by American game studio InnerSloth.

In the game, which can be played with 4-10 players, participants have to restore a spaceship through ‘tasks’. Among them, one or two players are imposters who attempt to sabotage all tasks and kill other ‘crewmates’.

Crewmates can win by completing all tasks or discovering and voting the impostor off the ship.
