New Delhi: Some politicians, despite the Lok Sabha poll heat, are taking time out do things far away from 23 May’s political potboiler. Or so they revealed on Twitter.
While the Congress is deeply concerned about alleged EVM tampering — senior leaders like Digvijay Singh and Shashi Tharoor even visited EVM strongrooms — Uttar Pradesh general secretary (west) Jyotiraditya Scindia is chilling in the US.
There for his son’s graduation, Scindia took out time to watch PepsiCo’s former India-born CEO Indra Nooyi, Nigerian novelist Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and American journalist-activist Gloria Steinem conferred with honorary degrees. Time to return to India, Mr. Scindia?

BJP’s Subramanian Swamy lives in a world of his own. While politicians and the people are only interested in Thursday’s Lok Sabha elections results, Swamy is five steps ahead with a “legal solution” to the Ram temple reconstruction. Maybe, the elections would have kept him busy had he been a candidate.

Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam, meanwhile, found it hard to digest the dinner hosted by BJP president Amit Shah for NDA allies. He couldn’t stomach the sight of NDA leaders raising their hands and proclaiming Modi as their prime minister again. Is this what is meant by being fed up?
