New Delhi: It seems Bihar Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi has a lot of time in his hands. Muzaffarpur deaths, what’s that?

In translation: Met with Shreya Shankar of Bihar, who won the title of Miss India United Continents 2019 at 5, Desh Ratna Marg office.

CPI (M) leader Sitaram Yechury finally had something to crow about after Niti Aayog released a report on healthcare – giving Kerala a place of pride – as he took a jibe at the BJP. Well, Kerala did stop the Nipah virus in its tracks.

Prime Minister Modi had delivered a long speech in his first address to the Parliament after coming to power. A speech  in which he had attacked the Gandhis while speaking about the Emergency. He also felt the need to tweet about it.

In translation: Some people called big slogans – who did it, who did it? 25 June 1975 – Who did it? Democracy strangled – who did it? Media banned – who did it? The courts were insulted – who did?

On his part, Congressman Gaurav Gogoi decided to list out all other “burning issues” that Modi forgot in his “hour-long speech”. Oh well, there’s always the next speech to look forward to.

Looks like the ‘Common Man of Madhya Pradesh’, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, really admires the Prime Minister. From earth to the sky, Chouhan says this country will be powerful under Modiji. Given ISRO’s plans to send astronauts in space, this might well come true, and soon.

In translation: Honorable Narendra Modi ji, after Jai Jawaan, Jai Kisan, Jai Vigyan you have talked about Jai Anusandhan, without a doubt the country will get a new power with this innovative idea. From the earth to the sky, the country will be strong.

Congress President Rahul Gandhi is back from wherever he has been with a much-delayed comment on the Jharkhand lynching incident. Welcome back!

Someone else who is equally outraged by the Jharkhand lynching is LJD leader Sharad Yadav, who makes a rare Twitter appearance.

In translation: #IndiaAgainstLynchTerror The way a Muslim boy was beaten up for the slogan of Jai Shri Ram is very unfortunate. Such acts are increasing day by day and it is very important to prevent them. This is defaming our country. The government should take stern measures against this.

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, who can tweet in his sleep, fired a new  salvo — a cartoon by Satish Acharya – also on the Jharkhand lynching.

Newly elected TMC MP Mahua Moitra gave her maiden speech in the Lok Sabha Tuesday. Women politicians across the political spectrum immediately came forward to congratulate her. Now, if only they could all agree on more important issues.

In some good news, former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has helped raise over $500,000 to aid children in American refugee detention centres who are forced to live in inhumane and unhealthy conditions. She’ll be hearing from President Trump real soon.
