New Delhi: Sprinter Hima Das clinched her fifth gold of the month in 400-metre race in Czech Republic on 20 July. Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Das on her incredible performance. She is, indeed, India’s golden girl.
Thank you @narendramodi sir for your kind wishes. I will continue to work hard and bring more medals for our country. https://t.co/wR8uXR1CL0

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra called out the Uttar Pradesh government for initiating action in the Sonbhadra massacre, which killed 10 people, only after the matter was raised by the Congress. We appreciate your dedication to this case, ma’am.

Senior Congress leader and MP from Thiruvananthapuram, Shashi Tharoor got schooled by poet and lyricist Javed Akhtar when he made a series of gaffes involving poet Mirza Ghalib. He first mistakenly assumed that it was Ghalib’s birth anniversary Sunday and then tweeted out some lines, wrongly attributing them to Ghalib. It’s okay sir, just one of those days.
Thanks to @Javedakhtarjadu & other friends, I realize I've been had. The lines are not Ghalib's. Just as every clever quote is attributed to Winston Churchill even if he never said it, so it seems that whenever people like a shayari, they credit Ghalib for it! Apologies.

Former Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj had a clever riposte to a rather tasteless comment. See for yourself.
Is bhawana ke liye apko mera agrim dhanyawad.
I thank you in anticipation for this kind thought. https://t.co/pbuW6R6gcE

Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu shared minute by minute updates of his exit from the Punjab government after a spat with Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh. Too much information, sir?
Have vacated the ministerial bungalow, handed it over to the Punjab Government.

Shiv Sena leader Priyanka Chaturvedi had something to say about Pakistani PM Imran Khan not being received by any US official on his maiden visit there. See for yourself.

BJP MP Tejasvi Surya was in a sour mood over lack of traffic lights and patrolling team on one of the most crowded streets in his home city, Bangalore. Traffic hazards are everywhere, sir.
Dear @blrcitytraffic its plain shocking that traffic lights at MG Road junction aren't running on Saturday night in city. Nor are there any traffic police. The chaos caused is unbelievable.
Spent more time at this junction than what it took to come here from the airport!

Looks like Chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is not a big fan of Imran Khan. He said Khan is a ruler and not a leader, and that Pakistan needs a leader who speaks for all Pakistanis and not just himself. However, the last part of his tweet left us confused. Read on and attempt to decipher it.
Pitty even when representing our country abroad Selected PM can’t get of his container. Imran is a ruler not a leader. ?? needs a leader who speaks for all Pakistanis not just himself. If government does opposition & opposition does opposition then who’s left to run the country?

BJP’s national general secretary B.L. Santhosh spoke about the ‘inevitable’ result of the Karnataka floor test after another MLA announced to abstain from voting on the confidence motion. We just wonder when will this political drama come to an end.
BSP MLA Sri Mahesh declares that he will not attend floor test on 22 July in Karnataka Assembly … That brings the no down by one more .. Does crisis managers & Speaker still want to postpone the inevitable .??? @BJP4Karnataka @BSYBJP

Congress spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi was unimpressed by BJP MP Pragya Singh Thakur’s comments and pointed out how it went against one of BJP’s flagship schemes — Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
Pragya Singh Thakur's statement that they have not become MPs to clean gutters or toilets goes totally against the idea of Swachh Bharat (clean India) scheme. She is atleast honest about it.
