New Delhi: The fortnight-long political drama in Karnataka finally came to an end Tuesday with a trust vote that marked the end of the 14-month-old Congress-JD(S) coalition government. And as expected, several political leaders had to say a lot about it.
Congress general secretary K.C. Venugopal wrote a long thread, denouncing the BJP. He also said while the BJP may have won the trust vote, it was a moral victory for the Congress.
BJP facilitated this dirty-dealing political drama by offering a huge amount of black money and ministerial berths to the defected MLAs. Along with this, the BJP also misused central agencies like enforcement and Income Tax for black mailing and horse trading. 2/n

..and carrying out political horse trading has been raised even in the legislative assembly. The Congress party and JD(S) fought in the floor of the house, Honourable Supreme Court as well as in the street to upheld the democratic morals and values. 4/n

Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti also gave her two cents on the fall of the Congress-JD(S) coalition. Safe to say, she was most disappointed.
After all the paid for lavish trips to influence Karnataka lawmakers in Mumbai, what can one make of the HD Kumaraswamy led Cong-JD(S) govt collapse? It’s a black day for democracy when a country that prides in being the worlds largest democracy watches an elected govt crumble.

And, we have senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh comparing the Congress’ struggle in Karnataka with India’s freedom struggle against the Britishers. We understand your sentiments, sir.
I totally agree. When our Freedom Fighters began their fight against British for Independence did they ever know that they would be able to free us from Colonial Rule? No but they fought and succeeded. So would we. So fight against this Ideology of Hate and Violence. https://t.co/0wFU5mIYjH

Union Minister for Animal Husbandry Giriraj Singh had something to say about Rahul Gandhi and Imran Khan. He said Gandhi and the Congress behave like Imran Khan’s cheerleaders. On the other hand, he asked the Pakistani PM to return Pakistan-occupied Kashmir to India.

In translation: Rahul Gandhi and the Congress are in an amazing position, they are behaving like Imran Khan’s cheerleaders. Imran needs to learn his place. He needs to forget about the referendum and should be prepared to hand over Pakistan-occupied Kashmir to India because this is [Prime Minister Narendra] Modi’s government now, not [Jawaharlal] Nehru’s.
Yuva Sena president Aaditya Thackeray launched the Twitter handle of Thane Municipal Corporation to address various issues of the citizens. We wonder if this is a damage- control exercise for the failures of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation in dealing with floods and fire incidents.
Happy to have launched the @Twitter handle of Thane Municipal Corporation to address various issues of citizens directly and make sure every voice is heard. @TMCATweetAway is the handle! Tweet away your suggestions & issues to get them solved! https://t.co/uWgogBokRA

Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Keshav Prasad Maurya took a rare deviation on Twitter. He usually tweets about the work done by the Uttar Pradesh government, but here he wishes billiard player and Arjuna awardee Pankaj Advani on his birthday. We wonder why?

BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya made a rather surprising comparison between a baby and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. See for yourself.
मन के सच्चे सारे जग के आँख के तारे होते है, ऐसा सुना था आज देख भी लिया।

California Senator and Democratic presidential contender Kamala Harris received backlash for writing on the objectives of her marijuana reform bill. See for yourself.
Today I introduced a comprehensive marijuana reform bill that is the first step towards legalization. My bill will:⁰
✅Decriminalize marijuana at the federal level
⁰✅Expunge prior marijuana convictions⁰
✅Use tax revenue from marijuana sales to help those w/ prior convictions— Kamala Harris (@KamalaHarris) July 23, 2019

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra remembered tree man Bhayyaram Yadav from Chitrakoot. She also had an unusual hope for him. Read on to find out.
