New Delhi: The fortnight-long political drama in Karnataka finally came to an end Tuesday with a trust vote that marked the end of the 14-month-old Congress-JD(S) coalition government. And as expected, several political leaders had to say a lot about it.

Congress general secretary K.C. Venugopal wrote a long thread, denouncing the BJP. He also said while the BJP may have won the trust vote, it was a moral victory for the Congress.

Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti also gave her two cents on the fall of the Congress-JD(S) coalition. Safe to say, she was most disappointed.

Union Minister for Animal Husbandry Giriraj Singh had something to say about Rahul Gandhi and Imran Khan. He said Gandhi and the Congress behave like Imran Khan’s cheerleaders. On the other hand, he asked the Pakistani PM to return Pakistan-occupied Kashmir to India.

In translation: Rahul Gandhi and the Congress are in an amazing position, they are behaving like Imran Khan’s cheerleaders. Imran needs to learn his place. He needs to forget about the referendum and should be prepared to hand over Pakistan-occupied Kashmir to India because this is [Prime Minister Narendra] Modi’s government now, not [Jawaharlal] Nehru’s.
