League of Legends is one of the most popular games available for free play on your pc. However, the interface should be glitch-free if you want to make the most of this popular game.

While playing this game, many users reported the issue of ‘Keyboard not working League of Legends.’ It is the most common thing for League of Legends not to launch.

This might become quite irritating for the users while they try to play an error-free game. The good news is, there are a few solutions when you encounter this error of the league of legends keyboard not responding. Before doing this troubleshooting options you should test your spacebar key with the online Spacebar Counter tool.

But first, look at the following causes, which might be the reason behind the unresponsive keyboard of League of Legends. If the reason behind this issue is small, then you won’t have to go through the technical settings.

– Faulty Keyboard Settings

Faulty keyboard settings might be the first cause of this issue. Sometimes, the keys on your keyboard do not match what you type. There are a couple of reasons why this issue can happen. It could be due to language settings, NUMlock settings, or Autocorrect settings.

– Undetected keystrokes

Undetected keystrokes happen due to errors caused in the configuration file. The only way to fix this is to reset your bound keys. Some poor hardware also leads to this kind of issue.

Before Fixing the LoL keyboard not working issues, Check

– If your Keyboard is Working Normally

Sometimes, the primary issue could be in your external keyboard only. So, before playing League of Legends with your keyboard, use it on a normal WordPad. The issue is not connected to the game interface if it’s not typing correctly.

Follow the steps to fix your keyboard by repairing the keyboard driver:

  1. Open Device Manager.
  2. After this, Double-click Keyboard, right-click on your keyboard driver, and select Uninstall Device.
  3. After it’s done, restart your computer. When your computer is restarted, Windows installs the driver for your keyboard automatically.
  4. Once Windows reinstall the driver, launch League of Legends and see if now the keyboard is working correctly.

– If the Fast Startup feature is Turned On

While using an external keyboard, if the Fast Startup feature is turned on, it could be why League of Legends is not working correctly. Follow the steps below to Turn off the Fast Startup feature:

  1. Click on the Start and then select the Control Panel.
  2. Set the view mode in Category and select ‘Hardware and Sound.’
  3. Select Power Options.
  4. Select the link, ‘Choose what the power buttons do.’
  5. Click on ‘Change settings that are currently unavailable.’
  6. Uncheck the ‘Turn on fast startup,’ and then select the ‘Save Changes’ option.
  7. The fast startup feature is turned off.

Try the Below Fixes to Solve the keyboard Problem

– Reboot the system

This step is straightforward. You have to restart your computer. Reboot your computer and try relaunching the League of Legends. This technique works sometimes but only gives temporary results that can lead to frustration. If you wish for a more precise solution, try the following fixes.

– Try Changing Keyboard Layout

You can also try changing the keyboard layout. For instance, if you use a QWERT keyboard, you can try it with other keyboard layouts such as COLEMAK or DVORAK. Or you can also try attaching a different external keyboard. If this does not work, you can try changing the keyboard settings with the following steps:

  1. Select the Input Indicator icon given on the Taskbar.
  2. Click the New Keyboard layout.

Once you are done with the steps mentioned above, launch League of Legends and try playing with the new keyboard layout.

  2. Select the ‘Gear’ button and open the ‘Settings’ menu.

– Turn off Background Applications

The next solution is to close all the background applications. When background applications are running, they could interfere with the interface. It is not an easy task to find which applications are causing trouble, but most of the time, they are gaming-related ones such as Razer Synapse, or they could also be the ones that balance your gaming headphones.

To check which application is your enemy, try launching League of Legends after closing each.

– Reset Configuration File

If the keystrokes are not working, you must reset the configuration file. Following are the steps to do so:

  4. Open another file titled “persistedSettings.json”. Hit Ctrl+f and then search “input.ini”.
  5. Look for the curly braces and then delete the data given between them. For instance, you will find the following command:

“name”: “Input.ini”,

“Sections”: [

“name”: “GameEvents”,

. . .

  1. Click on Save Changes > Tab back into LOL > exit the Game
  2. Relaunch the game and see if the issue is solved.

– Provide Administrator Privilege

If you tried launching the game from the default folder and failed, you can once give it a try as an Administrator. To do so, Right-click on the LeagueClient.exe and then hit Run Program as an administrator.

This step can help fix the issues where you want to modify some files.

– Run DISM Command

Deployment Image Servicing and Management is a new addition that you can use to modify a Windows image. DISM commands replace the package manager files (pkgmgr.exe), PEimg, and Intlcfg tools. Furthermore, DISM enhances the offline servicing experience.

Following are the steps to run a DISM Command:

  1. Press Windows + x on your keypad.
  2. Choose Command Prompt to open Administrator Command Prompt.
  3. In the command prompt Window, run the following commands.

dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth

dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

– Perform System File Checker

If you are facing issues with launching LOL while playing with Windows, try running SFC scan to fix the issue.

First, Open the Command Prompt and type the following command to perform a DISM command.

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

It is necessary to run DSIM command if you are windows 8, 8.1 or 10 before SFC scan. It will help in repairing the corrupted files.

(Note: The above operation will take a few minutes)

Now, Open the Command Prompt and type the following command to perform a system file checker.

sfc /scannow

The above command will help you scan all system files and replace the corrupted ones with cache files. Keep in mind and do not close the window until the verification is 100% incomplete. Once interfered, you will have to do the same process again.

  2. After doing this, see the Keyboard Button under the Interaction settings.
  3. Turn off the Filter Keys.
