GATE 2023: Registration to start from 30 August, 2022, check the changes introduced this year

GATE 2023 notification has been released and the registration process will begin from August 30, 2022 on the official website of IIT Kanpur gate.iitk.ac.in. Know the detailed exam schedule along with the new changes introduced in GATE 2023.

Candidates can fill out the application form till October 7, 2022. The form correction window for GATE 2023 is going to be open from November 4 to 11, 2022. Candidates have to enter their personal details, Exam Center choice, GATE Paper code, etc to fill GATE 2023 application form.

GATE 2023 is going to be conducted by IIT Kanpur. The notification for GATE 2023 has been released on the official website with several changes including exam fees, exam centers, and application fees. Some of the basic criteria to be eligible for GATE 2023 are listed below:

  • Candidates studying in the final year of their undergraduate degree or have completed their undergraduate degree are eligible for GATE 2023. 
  • Candidates pursuing their undergraduate degree from other countries rather than India or have completed their graduation are also eligible for GATE 2023.

GATE 2023 application fee has been increased to INR 850 for female and SC/ST/PwD candidates. For the general candidates, the application fee is increased to INR 1700.

GATE paper combination have been revised in GATE 2023. Candidates can appear in a maximum of two papers out of the total 29 papers in GATE.  Candidates can opt for the primary Paper and for the secondary paper on the provided paper combination. 

GATE 2023 is going to be conducted in various cities of India and cities outside of India. The authority has introduced changes in the number of exam centres. The number of GATE 2023 exam cities has been increased from 203 to 2019.

The authority has introduced a new change in the shift timing of GATE 2023. GATE is usually conducted in two shifts – 9:00 AM to 12 noon and 2 PM to 5 PM. But, IIT Kanpur has changed the shift timing for GATE 2023. GATE 2023 is going to be conducted from 09:30 AM to 12:30 PM and 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.  

GATE 2023 Admit Card is going to be released on January 3, 2022. Candidates have to enter their Registration Number and Date of Birth to download the admit card. GATE 2023 is going to be conducted from September 4 to 12, 2022.  

GATE 2023 question paper is divided into 2 sections – General Aptitude and the core subjects. The question paper will consist of 65 questions – 10 questions from General Aptitude and 55 questions from the core subjects. 

Candidates must have solid planning and execution to bring a good score in GATE 2023. Candidates need to understand the syllabus & exam pattern and create a proper strategy to complete the syllabus. Candidates may refer to the previous year’s GATE Question Papers to practice the general aptitude and core subject questions. Aspirants may also join GATE online coaching at Unacademy, Gradeup, NPTEL, MIT OpenCourseWare, Made Easy, etc.
