Entrepreneurship a marathon, not a sprint, says Bizgurukul founder Ritwiz Tiwari

A popular saying is: “If you don’t monetise your hobby, it will die.” And it is rightly said so. For any person with talents such as content creation or baking, failure to monetise these skill sets and things created by them will lead to a natural end to it. We spend a lot of time making money or recuperating from making money.

People work so hard, day and night, to earn a good living honestly, but that might not be the most optimum way to go about it. There is no denying that hard work is essential, however, a sedulous worker may not be the most impressive sight to watch.

There are lakhs of people in India who are just continuously working, some work as hard as a donkey but don’t use their skills for a better standard of living. People are so risk-averse and comfortable that they don’t believe that upskilling or freelancing can bring better money.

Known for his poised attitude, Ritwiz Tiwari has always been a thinker at a very young age and was also inclined towards business. However, he never thought he could create one in his 20s. Like most of his peers, Ritwiz completed his BBA and then joined a multinational company in Noida.

“While working, I used to be very curious about reaching a top-level. I used to talk to my seniors in the company, and gradually I realized It would take a lot of hard work and time for me to reach my first lakh, and I knew I wanted to reach there fast. My love for speed forced me to start a new project in affiliate marketing. One of my colleagues told me about an international brand, and I learned selling, marketing, types of marketing there. Then the idea of starting my venture hit me, and Bizgurukul came into existence.” said Ritwiz.

“Entrepreneurship is a marathon, not a sprint and I’ve learned that finishing a marathon isn’t just an athletic achievement. It’s a state of mind; a state of mind that says anything is possible.” he added.

He found a massive gap in the market while working with international brands in affiliate marketing. Ritwiz took it on his shoulders to develop a proper system and training coupled with online education in India.

The idea of ed-tech might not be unique, but collaborating with affiliate marketing has helped him bootstrap the whole concept and make it into the well-known brand it is today. An online education platform that provides living to many people today by sitting and working from home is no less than a blessing today.

Building a successful team is not just about finding a group of people with the right mix of professional skills. Instead, their insights should help in laying the groundwork for a highly productive team that can communicate, cooperate and innovate in an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect.

Ritwiz has one prominent quality that separates him from the crowd. He tends to inculcate the positive aspects of people he works with, in his own life. Fortunately, he has been blessed with the right people. He learned a lot from his business partners and associates.

He learned lessons about resourcefulness from Kartik, leadership from Keshave, management from Rohit, patience, and hard work from Paras. All the mentioned members have played a significant role in Bizgurukul’s journey. Ritwiz is a strong believer in the fact that one can create anything, bring any dream to reality but never alone. The team matters the most.

His vision is to create a platform where people can learn new things, get authentic relatable education and earn a living out of it. The plan is to avoid unnecessary labour and hard work where most people either blame their luck and give more power in the hands of people where they are accountable for their actions. He wants to break the myth that hard work is everything as most of the industrial world was brought up to believe this. He wishes to break the old obsolete traditions and carve new ones.
