One may be a son or daughter of a superstar, but if he or she fails at the box office it is the end of a story. By this account, Sushant Singh was not a failure at all. He had a reasonably good career. Some minor setbacks in the career, a few flops should not depress a person to take an extreme step of ending his life. . The entire debate about Bollywood is a contrived one. We should not forget that the industry is a costly business. Producers invest crores of rupees in a project. If a film flops at a box office, the producers can suffer heavy losses. Bollywood is replete with stories of rag to riches as well as from riches to rags . I recall a story of Bharat Bhushan, a superstar in in heydays, but lost all his money due to series of flops he produced in the sixties. Even greats like Raj Kapur and Amitabh Bachchan were , at the critical points in their careers, on the verge of bankruptcy. But they came back with determination and great efforts. The morale is that this line is not for the chicken hearted. No actor can complain that producer A or B is not hiring him or her for their projects. It is entirely the discretion of the producers, because in the end they are going to earn or lose money.
