Mohan Bhagwat, during the three-day RSS lecture series called ‘Bhavishya Ka Bharat’, said that the Sangh’s interpretation of Hindutva does not exclude Muslims and...
The Beckhams have had the sleekest, unassailable PR game in celebrity town. And much of it rests on their carefully curated social media image, especially on Instagram.
Economists say there are weaknesses in India’s GDP data. But statisticians claim the accusations are based on flawed understanding, saying while GDP has problems, the economists are looking in the wrong places.
Both the governments expressed their commitment to strengthening their maritime cooperation to strengthen the maritime safety and security framework in the region.
Mr Chari, I recently saw you on TV quoting two lines of a Hindi song, “aap yoon hi agar hamse miltey rahey// dekhiye eak din pyaar ho jaayega”. That was a nice lighter note to introduce into a serious debate.
In the context of your present article, I would like to remind you of another Hindi song which is quite relevant here: “utthegi tumhari nazar dheerey-dheerey// mohabbat karegi asar dheerey-dheerey.”
I do not know why some political parties did not attend the resent RSS meet in which Mr Mohan Bhagwat made some startling (and “welcome”) statements about the Muslims and India’s Constitution etc. But I can imagine that not everyone would like to be on the same dais as Mr Bhagwat NOT SO MUCH BECAUSE of the image the RSS has traditionally had, but more because of the image IT HAS RECENTLY ACQUIRED in the last four and a half years. I am referring to the period of the present BJP government. From the general image of, “a bunch of Hindus who had their own crazy ideas but were not really harmful to anyone, and actually helped people at times”, the RSS is now seen as the patron-saint of a political party which is, if not directly supporting then at least turning a blind eye to, a NUMBER OF MURDERS of the Muslims and Dalits!!
The NEW “purported” attitude of the RSS, of tolerance and accommodation towards Muslims is directly contradicted by the BJP towards the same community in the last four and a half years. Examples are too many to quote. It should suffice to point out what the party’s President himself said recently — that the BJP won “despite Akhlaq”!!!! What he meant was, “so what if Akhlaq was murdered, didn’t the BJP win nevertheless?” Can anyone imagine a more shocking statement from a party head in a democratic, secular country?!!
This is the “company” the RSS is keeping lately, Mr Chari. Who can you blame for being chary of associating with such an organization? Especially when the alleged “change of heart” has happened in the ripe season of elections when the “protege” BJP is staring defeat in its face?
Let the elections pass, Mr Chari. Let the RSS “contribute” towards showing this dangerous avatar of the BJP the door — by asking its cadre to NOT campaign for this party. If post-elections the RSS sings the same changed-heart tune as voiced by Mr Bhagwat….”mohabbat” will definitely “karegi asar dheerey-dheerey”, Mr Chari.
