New Delhi: Launching a fresh attack on Rahul Gandhi, BJP president J P Nadda said on Monday that the Congress leader “has not attended” a single meeting of Parliament’s standing committee on defence but continues to “demoralise” the nation and question the valour of armed forces.

Nadda’s tweets came following reports that Gandhi has attended none of the committee’s meetings so far.

There was no immediate reaction from the Congress to Nadda’s attack.

“Rahul Gandhi does not attend a single meeting of Standing Committee on Defence. But sadly, he continues to demoralise the nation, question the valour of our armed forces and do everything that a responsible opposition leader should not do,” the BJP president said.

He added, “Rahul Gandhi belongs to that glorious dynastic tradition where as far as defence is concerned, committees don’t matter, only commissions do. Congress has many deserving members who understand parliamentary matters but one dynasty will never let such leaders grow. Really sad.”

Gandhi has been leading his party’s sharp criticism of the central government over a host of issues, including the continuing standoff between Indian and Chinese armies.

The BJP has in turn accused him of lowering the morale of armed forces.

  1. ask Nadda as to why Modi does not conduct a single meeting on Ganga so he should be also removed and all other committees where who ever from which ever political parties do not attend they should be removed and put to shame including Modi. It is only to demonize RahulGandhi who alone is the Opposition in India and no one or no Political party. Ask Nadda to shut up.

  2. Mr Rahil gandhi is mostly busy for irrelevant comments in media or papers to keep him self alive in news . He has no time to attend meeting where he has to put wise question which is beyond his capacity.

  3. “Rahul Gandhi doesn’t attend single meeting” is not correct. He secretly attends meeting with India’s enemies. Rahul Gandhi’s activities are primarily against India’s interest but he is yet to be arrested and sent to Tihar jail. Anti nationals have free run in Modi’s India.

    • Ask your AAKA to do that. Modi is not Monarch that he can do as he wishes. Modi promised in 2013 while campaigning for his own Prime Minister ship and BJP that soon he comes to power he would see to it that Vadera husband of Priyanka Gandhi would be put behind bar for his corrupt practices in Haryana and Rajasthan where BJP ruled soon after but see where is Vadera ? हिंदी मे कहा जाता है – डपोर शन्ख जो उसे कह्ते है कि जितना मांगो वो उससे ज्यादा देने का वादा करता है.

  4. The Print – please ask Mr Gandhi why he didn’t attend these meetings. Was he visiting the China Embassy and so he could not attend?
