New Delhi: The opposition parties have “no neta, no niti and no rananiti (no leader, no policy and no strategy)”, the BJP said Sunday even as it resolved to make a ‘New India’ free of poverty, casteism, terrorism, and communalism by 2022.

The party’s political resolution passed at the national executive meeting here Sunday, gave a clear indication of its intent to make national security one of its main planks in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Senior leader Prakash Javadekar, who briefed the media on the political resolution, said that it emphasised on the “difference in internal security” scenarios during the UPA regime and the NDA dispensation.

There were bomb blasts in towns and cities across the country during the UPA government, which doesn’t happen any longer, Javadekar said, adding that the number of Naxal-affected districts had reduced to one-third. Terrorism, he claimed, has also abated in Kashmir.

Home minister Rajnath Singh, who presented the political resolution, said that the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) has been lifted in Tripura and Meghalaya and parts of Arunachal Pradesh and “something will be done about it in Assam”.

“Without internal security, there can be no progress,” he said.

On second day, movie on Modi, praise for PM

The second day of the BJP’s national executive meeting began with the screening of a 32-minute film, Chalo Jeete Hain, based on Modi’s life. It was followed by all-round praise for the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had taken a resolve to make a Naya Bharat or New India and after four-and-a-half-years, India has made a lot of progress towards it, said Javadekar.  “The resolve to make Naya Bharat will be accomplished by 2022.”

Javadekar further said that the PM enjoyed immense popularity even now. “After four-and-a-half-years years, the Prime Minister enjoys 70 per cent popularity rating because he has vision, passion and imagination,” he said.

The ruling party expressed confidence of returning with a bigger vote-share and seats in 2019, saying that it is the only party in the world to run 23 activities in every booth.

“Opposition parties ke paas na neta hai, na niti hai, na rananiti hai. They are, therefore, demoralised and indulging in negative politics. ‘Modi Roko’ is their only agenda. People don’t support such negative politics,” Javadekar said.

The BJP also took a combative stand on the issue of an increase in petroleum prices, linking it with purchasing power parity and saying that inflation was 100 per cent more during the UPA government.

  1. If BJP wants to win 2019 election based, let them focus on their achievements and what’s their action plan for future instead simply attacking opposition, Congress and Rahul. As for as bomb blasts attacks etc, what they have to say about attack in Parliament etc. More over only when BJP is in opposition bombs got exploded and its bit interguing

  2. BJP and RSS doesn’t know that it takes relentless pursuit of free market economics to reduce poverty. The present economy is a yawn.

  3. Onions have proved electorally expensive in the past. Fuel prices matter much more to households. The effort will be to highlight political issues but economics will intrude.
