New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convener Arvind Kejriwal has called all his MLAs Thursday morning to brainstorm allegations that the Bharatiya Janata Party was trying to dethrone his government.

Earlier Wednesday, senior leaders accused the BJP of offering them money to leave the AAP.

AAP’s national spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said “efforts to break the MLAs of Delhi have begun”. He said the BJP offered MLAs Ajay Dutt, Sanjeev Jha, Somnath Bharati and Kuldeep Kumar Rs 20 crore each to leave, and an additional Rs 5 crore if they brought along their colleagues. “Or we face cases like Manish Sisodia,” Singh said.

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Sisodia is being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation for alleged irregularities in the state’s liquor laws.

Sisodia claimed that before the CBI raids in his house last week, the BJP offered to make him chief minister if he broke the party. It also reportedly assured him that all cases would be withdrawn.

Sisodia tweeted Wednesday: “They failed to break me, and are now trying to lure individual MLAs with Rs 20-25 crore. They are trying to scare them with the threat of raids and conspiring to dismantle the party.”

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal called the threats “a serious matter” before convening a meeting of the party’s political affairs committee on Wednesday evening.

Reacting to these charges, BJP leader Sambit Patra said the AAP was trying to deflect BJP’s questions on malpractices in Delhi’s liquor policy.
