Ajit Pawar removed as NCP legislature party leader after he joins hands with BJP

BJP's Devendra Fadnavis Saturday took oath as Maharashtra CM for the second consecutive term while Ajit Pawar took oath as deputy chief minister of the state.

Mumbai: The NCP on Saturday removed Ajit Pawar as its legislature party leader after he joined hands with the BJP to form government and took oath as the deputy chief minister of the state.

“The decision to sack Ajit Pawar was taken at the meeting of the party’s MLAs here,” party sources said.

NCP chief Sharad Pawar was present at the meeting.

  1. It is now almost certain that Shri Sharad Pawar has stayed true to coalition dharma. There are over 40 newly elected MLAs present at the meeting called by him. Within the NCP, nephew has always had a larger than life persona, but that was made possible by his uncle’s towering personality, more than innate worth.
