Jyoti Yadavji I feel like puking at all this hungama about the visit. One narcissistic leader providing a grand welcome to another, the country be damned. This is not the way diplomacy is conducted. Under Modi, India’s diplomacy has been reduced to show boating before fawning NRIs.
This visit will then be tom-tommed as a great success for god knows what. What it brought out starkly is the attitude of the Govt. India is embarrassed about its poverty, but not moved enough to solve the problem with proper policy. Either it has no idea on what to do or does not care.
It also brings out very sharply that the interests of the people are very different from the interests of the Govt of the political party in power. People will say all this has been done before. To which I say nothing ever changes in this country. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
