‘Lalu aa jayega’ thought still haunts Biharis. Tejashwi can’t win youth with IAS ambitions

The JDU, too, like the BJP, believes in the politics of empowerment and Nitish Kumar as Bihar’s CM has worked on the vision of ‘Sabka saath, sabka vikas’.

Tejashwi Yadav is so afraid of the Lalu Yadav-Rabri Devi legacy that his party — the Rashtriya Janata Dal — is shying away from using their photos in the campaign posters in the upcoming Bihar assembly election. Like the proverbial ‘Gabbar aa jayega’ dialogue from Sholay that captured the fear for the dreaded dacoit, ‘Lalu aa jayega’ is a thought that haunts most Biharis.

Bihar won’t choose Tejashwi

Kidnaping, murder, anarchy, corruption, mis-governance and zero growth were the hallmarks of the Lalu, Rabri-led governments between 1990 and 2005 — husband and wife took turns as chief ministers to ‘loot’ state resources for which the Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo is in jail while Rabri and Tejashwi face criminal cases.

Yet, a section of media and social media commentators are attempting to project that Tejashwi is a possible alternative for Bihar voters. This false narrative that the RJD is somewhat a hope for the state’s youth is an attempt by the 10 Janpath ecosystem to gain some traction in the Bihar assembly polls. The RJD-Congress-Left alliance is not even an option for the youth of Bihar. Tejashwi Yadav is a dynast of a corrupt party known for crime and violence, and a Bihari youth who aspires to be an IAS officer knows well that an RJD government in the state would mean education will take a back seat and the ‘kidnapping industry’ will start to flourish again.

‘Palayan’ or the exodus of educated Biharis to the big cities of Delhi and Mumbai was worn as a badge of honour by the RJD government. No new industries were set up, existing factories had to shut, entrepreneurship became an alien concept and small businesses were forced to pay ransom to exist. Only Yadav musclemen flourished while contractors in nexus with the RJD politicians and bureaucrats looted Bihar — the likes of Sadhu Yadav who were related to Lalu Yadav and Rabri Devi played the feudal lord and kept the poor people of Bihar in subjugation. The poor in Bihar kept getting poorer. Bihar, to date, has the lowest per capita income in India, a legacy of the RJD rule.

Lalu only did theatrics to stay in news, which his son Tejashwi is copying now — the promise of 10 lakh jobs is plain theatrics. One should ask those who lost their businesses (many of them were kidnaped too) during the Lalu-Rabri Raj—do the RJD and the Yadav family understand the relationship between businesses and jobs? The answer will be no. All through their tenure, Lalu and Rabri believed in keeping people poor and killing businesses.

Why Bihar needs NDA

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a world-renowned leader with a proven track record of good governance, and Bihar has been a strong supporter of his development politics. Bihar’s youth want stability, opportunity, respect, growth and peace that only the NDA— under the leadership of PM Modi and CM Nitish Kumar — can provide. The BJP-JD(U) government has always worked towards curbing crime and ensuring development. The Janata Dal United (United), too, like the BJP, believes in the politics of empowerment, and Nitish Kumar as Bihar’s CM has worked on the vision of ‘Sabka saath, sabka vikaas’.

The NDA rule in Bihar has given Biharis respect and hope of a just society based on law and accountability of government officials. Throughout the NDA rule since 2005, Bihar has seen that social welfare programmes can uplift society, and economic growth is more sustainable when the law and order situation is under control. Lalu Yadav had made the word ‘Bihari’ synonymous with crime and disharmony. The NDA rule in Bihar has given the state a thrust towards a glorious future and reminded Biharis of their great legacy — revival of the Nalanda University is one such example.

The NDA is the only credible alliance that can deliver governance in Bihar.

  1. Whoever worte this article doesn’t understand journalism. Whoever wrote this is a proper Godi media material. No analysis, no facts, no journalism, just blatant opinions. The is a perfect reflection of BJP/RSS. Such cheap journalism was not expected from the print. And for the BJP fanboy journalist, Indian economy is on the mat but that too must be Laloo’s fault!!! Godi media gang is getting into the print.

    • Mishra and their likes are justified

Bahut dard hota hoga inko dekh ke kaise power humesha chatak gaya yeah sale wo haramkhor hain wo satta ke liye kuch bhi kar sakte hain .
Saap se bhi jayada khartarnak hote hain yeah .

Kabhi likho kaise 3 percent hone ke baujud tumhare pass 80 percent resource hain

  2. Sorry! But whatever you are , who you are very laloo phobic. Undoubtedly you are total biased person I found. I humble request you guys(including wire) that first go and first check the NCRB data of Lalu Prasad’ regime . And further talk about ! Now, we would like to know, are all BJP ruled states ok? Is there no misgovernance , murder or killing , rape??? Does anybody can come with reliable data? As we daily read , listen and watch in news. Why are you so blind despite having two such big eyes which you use to scare people on the name of religion and nationalism and blah blah….

  3. Haha, which Nalanda University you are talking about. How many students study there? Buhari youth know well about the NDA govt.’s Nalanda scam.

  4. People tend to forget those dreaded days so soon are having vested interests.

I am a migrant studied and working outside bihar and can relate to the article in word and spirit.

If RJD forms govt there is fear that the government will be run by Lalu and his coterie from jail.

The dormant power brokers and middlemen who are have not tasted unbridled authority since 15 years would start looting government treasury the way they did earlier with no development at all.

Now with populist manifesto which people understand cannot be fulfilled RJD wants to come to power by hook or by crook.

Once they come to power then only people will realise what blunder they have committed. But by then they would have taken themselves 15 years back.

Democracy is the game of numbers, let people decide for themselves. But my two cents and assessment is the RJD is not good for our people in Bihar.

  5. Not just Biharis, the whole of India is terrified at the prospect of Laloo (or his family members) being the next CM of Bihar.
Laloo Yadav and his family are the epitome of misgovernance and corruption.
The only ones who love them are certain woke journalists like Mr. Shivam Vij.

  6. I don’t understand this kind of article. The wire is a news agency not a publishing agency. Publishing such article tricks common people in believing it to be true and the tag of opinion does not prevent from spreading falsified theme.
You list the author above the article as not many read them to complete. It further mislead people.

  7. 25% IAS officers are from Bihar and what did they do? You stopped at Lalu. You should have brought in Nehru for Bihar’s failure. One more you missed to highlight Muslims for Bihar’s faikure too.

  8. Mishraji , BJP ka jaatiwaad “Vikash” hai aur bakiyon Ke Vikash ki baatein bhi jaatiwaad hai.
Also, I don’t understand why Laluji is being dragged in these elections considering he is neither fighting elections nor leading his party into it. Tejashwi CM banne se pehle failed administrator hai aur aap fail hoke bhi sarvottam.
Waise Jab BJP 2 crore jobs yearly de ho the rhi to why promise 19 again.
Where is Skill India? Funds 90% se jyada spent hue hai par goal Ka 10% bhi achieve nhi hua hai.

  10. The Head note is misleading, at the first instance the reader gets an impression that it is a news item, whereas it has been written by a representative of a political party, which should have been pointed out in the first instance, the ‘Godi’ media and some of the not so ‘Godi’, like this portal, are helping the BJP/NDA in this way, they’ve done such things in the past and are doing so at the present

  11. 15 years se power mein hai. kitna din Lalu ka poochandi dikhayenge. waisa bhi law and order kya bahut accha hai. Bihar mein. pious wishes may not become realities. pandra saal se kya kiya wuska koi jigar nahi. the author has shown profound bias. has a right to do so. but stop living in cukoo land.
