In the latest edition of ThePrint ‘Off the Cuff’, poet and lyricist Gulzar is in conversation with Editor-in-Chief Shekhar Gupta. Gulzar speaks about his memoir ‘Actually…I Met Them’ where he has narrated his encounters and experiences of working with noted filmmakers, actors and musicians such as Satyajit Ray, Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Suchitra Sen, Ritwik Ghatak, Pandit Ravi Shankar and others. The filmmaker-lyricist also spoke about ‘Bengali influence’ in his life and how politics has changed his writing over time. “It is the kind of madness that lives with a genius,” said Gulzar, while talking about musical stalwarts like Kishore Kumar and R.D. Burman.
