Tough call

In The Asian Age, Gokul Gopalakrishnan highlights the ongoing crisis with the neighbouring Maldives over the return of two helicopters given by India. Gopalakrishnan takes a dig at Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj for paying heed to the situation. Maldives’ ambassador in India Ahmed Mohamed told Reuters that the island nation had built sufficient infrastructure of its own and was capable of handling its medical situation.

Cartoonist Hemant Morparia takes a dig at Tibetan religious leader, the XIV Dalai Lama, for his recent comments on India-Pakistan relations. During his visit, the Dalai Lama said that the India-Pakistan crisis would have never emerged if Jawaharlal Nehru agreed to let Mohammad Ali Jinnah take up the prime ministerial position.

Cartoonist Arvind extends his support to fellow cartoonist Satish Acharya whose work was censored by the English daily Mail Today for his representation of the ongoing India-Maldives crisis and China’s role in South Asia geopolitics. The cartoonist resigned over editorial censorship.

Cartoonist R. Prasad criticises Congress president Rahul Gandhi for his comments on the Rajasthan assembly elections. At the launch of Congress election campaign in Rajasthan Sunday, Gandhi said, “I can guarantee you this time that not a single parachute candidate will be able to get the ticket. If any such candidate comes, I will cut the rope.” Prasad mocks Sonia Gandhi’s constant support to Rahul in his political career.
