Jaipur, Sep 6 (PTI) A man allegedly killed his 22-year-old wife and buried her body in a field following a dispute in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur district, police said on Tuesday.

Accused Pintu, 26, then walked to the police station to file her missing complaint, they said.

Victim Krishna’s body was exhumed from the field in Birawai village under Chiksana police station limits on Tuesday.

Station House Officer Vinod Meena said the couple had a fight late on Monday, following which Pintu strangulated his wife to death.

“A case of murder has been registered against the accused on the basis of a complaint lodged by the woman’s family members. The accused is being interrogated. The exact reason for the murder will be known after a detailed interrogation,” Meena said.

Krishna’s body was handed over to her family members after post-mortem, he said, adding Pintu is yet to be arrested. PTI AG AG CJ CJ
