Teacher, village revenue official held for bribery by ACB in Chhattisgarh

Raipur, Jul 17 (PTI) The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday arrested a teacher and a patwari for allegedly demanding and accepting bribes in Korba and Janjgir-Champa districts of Chhattisgarh.

The ACB official identified the two as Vinod Kumar Sande, a teacher in Middle School in Bela village in Korba, and Balmukund Rathore, a village revenue official (patwari) in Putpura village in Janjgir-Champa.

“Sande, who was also a district president of the teachers’ union, sought Rs 2 lakh for transfer of the complainant’s wife to a nearby school. Rathore wanted Rs 20,000 from a person for updating farmers’ loan book. The two were nabbed during traps laid by the ACB. They have been arrested under Prevention of Corruption Act,” the official said. PTI COR BNM
