Chennai, Jul 18 (PTI) Tamil Nadu obtained its identity on this day in 1967, marking the occasion a unique day in the history of the Tamils, Chief Minister M K Stalin said on Friday.

Recalling the efforts of the DMK government in naming the state, the Chief Minister said, “On July 18, 1967, after the DMK came to power, this land’s identity changed.” “Tamil Nadu Day – a unique day in the history of the Tamil community! The day when we officially got our true name of Tamil Nadu, a dream that we had been cherishing in our hearts for years, a dream come true,” he said in a post on the social media platform ‘X’.
