New Delhi, Jun 25 (PTI) In a bid to raise awareness among the youth about the dangers of drug abuse and illicit trafficking, the Department of Social Welfare, organised a drawing competition under its ongoing mass awareness campaign on Wednesday.
The initiative is open to participants across four categories — sub-junior (up to class five), junior (classes six to eight), senior (classes nine to 12), and an open category for college students and the general public, according to a circular from DoE’s Educational Vocational Guidance Bureau.
The theme of the competition is ‘Drug Abuse’, and participants are encouraged to illustrate messages reflecting the harmful effects of substance use, preventive measures, and healthy lifestyle choices, it said.
It mentioned that heads of schools have been requested to inform and encourage students to participate actively. Schools can submit multiple entries across the categories. The department has also announced that selected entries will be recognised and suitably awarded.
The campaign is part of the broader effort by the Delhi government to sensitise school-going children about the ill-effects of drugs through creative engagement and education. PTI SHB MNK MNK
