New Delhi: Amid the ongoing border standoff with China along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh, RSS mouthpiece ‘Organiser’ has recalled the 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre, which killed at least 10,000 people in Beijing.
In an editorial published Wednesday, the ‘Organiser’ also said even after “global backlash”, China is “shamelessly defending the irresponsible behaviour of hiding or perhaps spreading the Covid-19 pandemic by blaming others”.
“The muscle-flexing in the South China Sea to reassert the unfulfilled maritime aspirations, and curbing of the freedom and identity of Hong Kong is going on at the same time. The inhuman treatment to Tibet is already an untold story,” according to the editorial titled ‘Communist China: Party vs People’.
“China is even trying to use the same high-handed approach against Bharat when we are trying to strengthen our border infrastructure, the long-overdue project. Even after the global backlash, why Xi Jinping and his coterie of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) chose to behave aggressively,” it asked.
“The answer lies in the history of this Maoist party for which power, commanded through the gun, is more important than anything. Even the lives of Chinese people do not matter for the Party,” the editorial added.
The editorial also quoted RSS ideologue M.S. Golwalkar as saying: “We have to keep in mind that China has always been expansionist. It is in its blood.”
The Tiananmen Square protests took place on 4 June 1989 during which the Chinese military attacked demonstrators, mostly university students and youths, who were demanding free press, democracy and probe into alleged corruption by top Communist officials.
Besides the RSS mouthpiece, BJP general secretary Ram Madhav also recalled the protests in an article he wrote for The Indian Express Thursday.

China’s tradition of covering up ‘state secrets’
The editorial goes on to state: “As we have seen either in the name of Cultural Revolution or Restructuring or saving political stability through Tiananmen Square massacre, whenever there is a dissent in China against the Party, both Chinese people and the surrounding areas suffer. Communist China has the tradition of covering up the ‘state secrets’ to hide the exact figure of ‘abnormal death’.”
It said, “After the Wuhan mismanagement and sacrificing thousands of innocent lives, many business people, officers in the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), CCP cadres and even ordinary citizens of China have started questioning the intent and actions of the self-anointed Chairman and his coterie.”
The editorial added: “Communism in all forms is brutal and violent and uses students, workers, poor etc. merely as instruments for political power… The so-called people’ democracy has never been people-centric but always centred around Party and power.”
Xi returning to Mao’s Red Book: Ram Madhav
BJP general secretary Ram Madhav, in his article in Express, said: “China could be understood only by understanding Mao Zedong’s Long Revolution from 1911 to 1949… Revolutions came to China, but from the top. The Cultural Revolution was imposed on hapless Chinese people by Mao and his Gang of Four…”
He wrote, “Top leaders including Deng Xiaoping were sent away to the countryside… But the same Deng showed utmost cruelty towards the student protesters at the Tiananmen Square in 1989. June 4 was the day when the PLA, under Deng’s orders, had ruthlessly crushed the student protests…”
Madhav added, “Popular revolutions are not tolerated in CPC-led China. But top-down revolutions do happen. The latest revolution to export Chinese influence far into the world began with the rise of Xi Jinping in 2013.”
According to him, “besieged with multiple problems — Hong Kong, Taiwan and the US externally and economic and pandemic challenge internally — Xi seems to be returning to Mao’s Red Book”.
“Aggression is the panacea for both domestic and international challenges, Xi appears to think,” wrote Madhav.
