Rain, thunderstorms in parts of Rajasthan

Jaipur, Sep 13 (PTI) Rain accompanied with thunder was recorded at some places in eastern and western Rajasthan, the meteorological department said.

In the last 24 hours till 8.30 am on Friday, heavy rain was witnessed at some places in Jaipur, Dausa, Sikar, Sawai Madhopur, Bharatpur, Kota, Jhalawar and Baran districts.

The highest rainfall of 93 mm was logged in Mitrapura of Sawai Madhopur followed by 83 mm in Viratnagar of Jaipur, 78 mm in Patan of Sikar, 76 mm in Jhalawar, 70 mm in Bharatpur and 67 mm in Khatauli of Kota.

According to the Meteorological Center Jaipur, there is a possibility of decrease in heavy rain activities in the state from Friday.

However, rain with thunderstorms are likely to continue in north-eastern Rajasthan, the centre said.

There is a possibility of light to moderate rain at sporadic places from September 14 to 17, it said.

In most parts of western Rajasthan, the weather is likely to remain mainly dry in the upcoming days and light to moderate rain is predicted only at sporadic places. PTI AG OZ OZ
