Buldhana, July 16 (PTI) Authorities in eastern Maharashtra’s Buldhana district have appealed the farmers to take timely measures to check the spread of Lumpy Skin Disease among cattle.

Preventive measures must be taken in view of the outbreak of the disease in the district, said a release by the District Information Office.

The Krishi Vigyan Kendra has launched a public awareness campaign across the district and farmers must take the measures it has recommended, it said.

LSD is caused by a viral infection and spreads mainly through mosquitoes, affecting young calves more, the release said.

Affected animals should be kept in separate enclosures and cattle sheds should be disinfected regularly, it added. PTI CLS KRK
