Journalists seek probe into scribe’s death, meet Fadnavis

Mumbai, Feb 7 (PTI) Several media orgainsations have demanded a probe into the death of journalist Shashikant Warishe, who succumbed to injuries sustained after his two-wheeler was hit by a car in coastal Ratnagiri district.

The organisations claimed that after Warishe wrote against local land dealer Pandharinath Ambekar, he crushed the scribe’s bike under his car at a petrol pump in Ratnagiri district on Monday. Warishe succumbed to the injuries at a Kolhapur hospital on Tuesday.

Kiran Naik of Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Patrakar Parishad met Maharashtra Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis and sought a probe into Warishe’s death.

Mumbai Marathi Patrakar Sangh and Mantralaya and Vidhimandal Vartahar Sangh also condemned the “murder” of Warishe, who wrote for Marathi newspapers Mahanagari Times. PTI VT VT VT
