New Delhi: A Delhi court will decide on 15 November whether actor Jacqueline Fernandez will get regular bail for her alleged involvement in the laundering of Rs 200-crore, perpetuated by jailed conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar.

Fernandez has till now been granted interim bail by Delhi’s Patiala House Court.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED), which is probing the actress’s involvement in the case, has opposed regular bail, stating the actress did not cooperate with the investigation and only coughed up information when confronted with evidence.

On 17 August, 2022, the ED made Fernandez an accused in a supplementary chargesheet filed against Chandrashekhar in the Delhi court.

The earlier chargesheet filed by the ED said actresses Jacqueline Fernandez and Nora Fatehi received BMW cars, and other expensive gifts from the accused.

The chargesheet said Fernandez got “three designer bags from Gucci, Chanel, and two Gucci outfits for gym wear. A pair of Louis Vuitton shoes, two pairs of diamond earrings and a bracelet of multi-coloured stones, two Hermes bracelets. She also received a Mini Cooper which she returned”.

ThePrint has learnt that the two met twice face-to-face, and at other times, Chandrashekhar called her on video from Tihar Jail. Apart from the gifts mentioned above, the actress was also given diamond jewellery from Tiffany, and exotic cats and horses sent through a carrier during their whirlwind seven-month “love affair”.

Actress Nora Fatehi told the probe agency that during a charity event, she was gifted a Gucci bag and an iPhone by Chandrashekhar’s wife Leena Paulose.

Chandrashekhar is facing several cases of corruption under the Prevention of Corruption Act and Money Laundering Act, and is accused of cheating many people, including high-net individuals such as former Fortis Healthcare promoter Shivinder Mohan Singh’s wife Aditi Singh.
