Gurugram, Feb 24 (PTI) Suspended IPS officer Dheeraj Setia, who was booked in a case involving a multi-crore heist, on Friday got a reprieve with the police removing his name from the list of main accused.
In a supplementary charge sheet filed in a court, Setia’s name was placed in column 2, indicating that it is not required to proceed against him at the current stage, an officer of the Special Task Force (STF), which is probing the case. said.
On August 21, 2021, a theft was reported by an employee of Alpha G Corp Management Services Private Ltd at its office in Gurgaon One society, Sector 84.
Vikas Lagarpuriya’s gang members broke into the flat and decamped with crores of rupees in cash. Setia has been accused of the attempt to cover up the heist.

After interrogating Lagarpuria and Sangwan, a supplementary charge sheet was presented against them in the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Tarun Singhal on Friday.

An FIR of theft was registered on the complaint of Santosh Singh on behalf of Alpha G Corp Management Services Private Limited on August 21, 2021 and later sections of the arms act, conspiracy and corruption act were added.
“During police custody, Rs 4.12 crores were recovered from the possession of Vikas Lagarpuria. Till now, about Rs 10 crore have been recovered,” said an STF officer.
Senior advocate Amarjeet Yadav, counsel of Dr Sachinder Jain Nawal, another accused in the case, said his client as well as Setia were innocent.
“IPS Setia as well as Dr Nawal were unlawfully framed by police and they had no role in the case. The report of the polygraph test also revealed the same,” said Yadav. PTI COR RHL
