New Delhi: The Delhi Police detained a primary teacher Friday for attacking a Class V girl student with scissors and then pushing her off the first-floor window of the school building.

The girl, Vandana, has been hospitalised and is in a stable condition, the cops said.

A case is being prepared against Geeta Deshwal — a teacher in the Delhi Nagar Nigam Balika Vidyalaya — under Section 307 (attempt to murder), cops said, adding that eye-witness accounts were being examined.

Local people rushed the injured girl to the Bara Hindu Rao Hospital, soon after the horrific attack a little after 11 am.
