New Delhi, Jul 17 The Editors Guild of India has termed as “excessive” the registration of an FIR against journalist Ajit Anjum for his reports on the alleged irregularities in the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar.

In a statement, the Guild said that it was “deeply disturbed” by the filing of an FIR against the journalist while reporting in Bihar.

“The Editors Guild does not seek to defend or refute the contents of Anjum’s reportage. However, the registration of an FIR for what appears to be a legitimate journalistic exercise seems excessive,” the statement said. PTI SKU SKU KSS KSS
